About Me

Molly and Jack
My name is Vicky and I live with my husband and two children in Wigston, Leicestershire.
I have had dogs around me all my life and couldn't imagine being without them.
I currently have six dogs of my own, two working cocker spaniels called Jack and Molly, a parson russell x patterdale terrier called Tilly and Rosie, Bonnie and Robin our miniature longhaired dachshunds.
I love dog training and spend much of my time with my dogs doing little bits of training with them. All my dogs apart from Molly (who doesnt like the training hall environment) have completed or are working towards the Kennel Club's Good Citizen Awards. Rosie, Bonnie and Robin have all achieved Gold, Jack and Tilly have achieved silver.

I am an accredited dog training instructor at our local dog training club where I assist with the puppy classes and co-run a beginners class and the bronze good citizen class. I love helping people to learn how to train their dogs. It’s great to see how well the dogs develop over the courses.
I have previously been a puppy walker for Guide Dogs for the Blind and also for The Seeing Dogs Alliance. My role as a puppy walker for meant I had to socialise the pups with anything that they may come across in their working life. We had each pup for the first year of their lives from the age of 6 weeks old, teaching them basic obedience and socialisation. It had it's up's and down's, can be very emotional when it comes time to say goodbye, but has been one of the most rewarding jobs in the world, especially when we find out our pup has passed to become a qualified guide dog and is now making such a difference to another persons life.
As well as being an accredited dog training instructor with the Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour am also a member of the International Society of Animal Professionals.

I decided to set up Little K9's because I wanted to be at home for the children while they are young but I also love spending my time with the dogs. It wasn't until I got one of my own new pups that I thought to myself, 'how do other people manage all the feeds, toileting and other issues that come with a new puppy while they are at work?' and 'why should people miss out on having a dog because they work?' so I decided that maybe I could do it for you... after all, we have childminders, so why not puppy minders?
